These are the Best Chapter Book Series for Third Graders, kids ages 8 and 9. Both new and classic book series for 3rd graders!
Third grade, or when kids are 8 and 9 years old, is an exciting time for reading! Kids this age are beginning to develop more independence and are able to read longer and more complex stories.
This is a really fun age for reading because kids begin to advance from early reader chapter books and move on to some of the great books of children's literature.
Book series, like these chapter book series for third graders, are an excellent way to keep kids reading! Once they find a book they like, they'll want to dig into the rest of the series.

Stinkbomb and Ketchup-Face and the Badness of Badgers
This is partly a clever take on a medieval adventure story, but it's mostly a lot of random silliness - the kind that many kids double over in laughter for.
A brother (Stinkbomb) and his little sister (Ketchup Face) are roped into a kerfuffle when a twenty dollar bill goes missing. It must have been the badgers (because "bad" is their name) and when news of the treachery reaches King Toothbrush he sends them on a quest to rid the land of badgers. Sounds weird, but that's what makes it fun.
