March is Women's History Month! Let's get started with picture books and a coloring page!
I firmly believe that a great non-fiction picture book is one of the best ways to get started learning about a subject at any age. Non-Fiction Picture Books can be a fun way to learn, especially because of the visual elements of a well-designed picture book, but they're also a great way to get information and facts in a concise and simple format.
This FREE Women's History Month Printable Coloring Page and Book List was a collaboration between myself and my twelve-year-old daughter Eila. I created a booklist with some fantastic non-fiction picture books about noteworthy women and she designed and created the fun coloring page to go along with it.
Each picture of a woman or item on the coloring page is numbered and corresponds to a picture book about a woman who has made history. You can use it as a reading log, coloring in each picture as you read the corresponding book. By the time you've made your way through the coloring page and book list, you'll have a greater familiarity with 28 different women and their achievements.
It was so fun to collaborate with my daughter and we're both confident that you'll have so much fun using this Women's History Coloring Page and Book List too!
Tips for Printing and Use
Use it at home, in your classroom, and in your libraries. It's a great resource for elementary school age children as well as middle school, high-school, and even adults. Non-fiction picture books are for everyone!
It's designed to be printed on a standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper and I printed them double sided with the coloring page on the front and the booklist on the back. It's great on cardstock, especially if you want to color with markers, but paper works too.
