My three girls and I are all taking the 21 Day Listerine Challenge to brush, floss, and rinse twice a day with Listerine. Today is Day One and the girls were so excited to get started. Even something as mundane as brushing teeth can be fun when it's presented as a challenge!
We think oral health is very important so we've already established a routine of brushing our teeth at least twice a day. We don't use mouthwash, however, and we can be a little lazy when it comes to flossing. When we are rushing around getting ready for school in the morning and trying to make into bed at a decent hour every night, flossing is far too easy to skip.
I know both the kids and I can do better, which is why we are challenging ourselves to stick to this brushing, flossing, rinsing routine for the next 21 days.
To make sure we're all going to see this through, we've decided to mark it every morning and every night on the calendar. Getting the kids on board and excited about the challenge will also help me to stay on track because they are eager to complete the challenge each day. My hope is that by the end of the three weeks, we will have established a really solid family routine.
I'm also interested to see if using mouthwash will make a big difference in my personal brushing routine. I have noticed that my teeth get a film on them during the day, even if I brush three times a day. Does that happen to you?
What we're using:
- LISTERINE® Antiseptic (just for me)
- LISTERINE® SMART RINSE® (just for Esme - it's not recommended for children younger than 6)
- LISTERINE® Original Gel Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste
- REACH® Floss
We picked everything up at Target, and I took the kids along with me to help get them interested in the challenge. I highly recommend getting your kids on board for your own oral health care challenge - it's a fun way to build good habits for yourself and for your kids!
I received a Target gift card to purchase Listerine Brand products from Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Products Division of McNeil-PPC, Inc. and The Motherhood as part of my participation in the Listerine 21 Day Challenge. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this post are my own.
