Our Favorite Halloween Board Books for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. These books are an excellent way to introduce little ones to the fun of Halloween!
My youngest child may be seven years old, but it was only a few weeks ago that I finally realized that I could, and probably should, put away the basket of board books I have sitting in my living room. *Sob*
I've been collecting board books for my babies, toddlers, and preschoolers for over a decade! It's hard to believe my days of parenting little ones is finally over. But, before I pack them all away for my someday-grandchildren, I'm going to share our favorites.
These are some of our most favorite Halloween Board Books that we've read and collected over the years. I've been reading these board books to my babies and preschoolers for years. Board books are a wonderful way to introduce kids to the Halloween holiday and it's fun traditions.

Halloween Board Books
B Is for Boo: A Halloween Alphabet
By Greg Paprocki
Baby Lit creates such wonderful board books, and this Halloween Alphabet book is no exception. The illustrations in this one are truly a feast for the eyes!
Seeking a Witch
By Angela DiTerlizzi | Illustrated by Allie Smith
This is an adorable rhyming board book about two trick-or-treaters looking for the perfect witch. Really fun to read aloud!
One Black Cat
By Robie Rogge | Illustrated by August Ro
This one is extra fun because the book itself is shaped like a Halloween Black Cat! Follow the Black Cat through the story on a Halloween night adventure.
Ghosts in the House!
By Kazuno Kohara
This is one of our most favorite Halloween books! There's a sweet little witch in this story and she's decided to do something about her haunted house. Everyone knows ghosts are made of sheets, so a washing machine ought to do the trick.
Spooky Pookie
By Sandra Boynton
You can't go wrong with a Sandra Boynton board book! In fact, I think we've read this one so many times I have it memorized. Help Little Pookie pick the perfect Halloween costume!
Little Blue Truck's Halloween
By Alice Schertle | Illustrated by Jill McElmurry
We have several Little Blue Truck books and we love them. This is a fun lift-the-flap book with the most charming illustrations.
Room on the Broom
By Julia Donaldson | Illustrated by Axel Scheffler
This one is one of our family's hall-of-fame books - we've probably read it a million times. It's a rhyming story about a friendly witch and the funny creatures she picks up along the way.
Don't Push the Button! A Halloween Treat
By Bill Cotter
All of my toddlers have loved interactive board books, and this one is really fun! Join this cute purple monster as he ventures into a haunted house that turns out to not be very scary at all.
Eek! Halloween!
By Sandra Boynton
The chickens are nervous! They saw a wizard, a witch, a pumpkin with flickering eyes. What could it all mean? It's such a cute book.
Click, Clack, Boo!
By Doreen Cronin | Illustrated by Betsy Lewin
If you have little ones, you probably know about Click, Clack, Moo. This Halloween version with everyone's favorite farm animals and exasperated Farmer Brown is a must read in October.
Peek-a Boo!
By Nina Laden
We have all three books in this Peek-a series, but I think this Halloween version of peek-a-boo with bats, and ghosts, and jack-o-lanterns is my favorite.
Where's the Witch?
By Nosy Crow | Illustrated by Ingela P. Arrhenius
This is a beautifully designed lift=the-flap book (with felt flaps for durability!) in which little ones search for the witch. So well done!
Five Little Pumpkins
By Tiger Tales | Illustrated by Lucy Barnard
This is a brand new book, but I couldn't resist it! It's the classic "Five Little Pumpkins" poem paired with the sweetest illustrations. I mean, really, look at that pumpkin wearing glasses on the cover - I had to buy it!
My First Halloween
By Tomie dePaola
This sweet board book, by the children's book master himself, captures all the best parts of the Halloween Holiday. Definitely add this one to your family's board book collection.
Goodnight Goon: a Petrifying Parody
By Michael Rex
Surely you've been reading Goodnight Moon to your toddler, right? Well, then you'll really appreciate this parody Halloween version. It's one of my favorite Halloween books of all time.
If You're Spooky and You Know It
By Aly Fronis | Illustrated by Jannie Ho
A Halloween themed twist on the classic song, "If You're Happy and You Know It." The toddler and preschool crowd will absolutely adore this one!
Construction Site Gets a Fright!: A Halloween Lift-the-Flap Book
By Sherri Duskey Rinker | Illustrated by AG Ford
This is a new interactive Halloween board book with flaps to lift. Every time the trucks are frightened, little readers can lift the flaps to show that it's really not scary at all. Very cute rhyming text!
The Monsters on the Broom
By Annemarie Guertin | Illustrated by Shauna Lyn Panczysyn
You sing/read this cute Halloween Board Book to the tune of "Wheels on the Bus" and it's adorable!

I found your site while looking up Amazon Prime's Book Box subscription reviews. I'm really glad I came across your site! This list looks great and I've also taken a look at some of your other themed book lists. I'll definitely be coming back to visit your website again.
On another note, I love the look of your website and wouldn't change a thing... except maybe the text color within the review box? I'm on mobile and maybe that's adding to the difficulty, but the tiny light gray letters against the light background are difficult to read.
