While we've been enjoying our summer and all the fun that comes with unstructured days and lot's of warm weather, we have also been very aware that summer isn't always fun for everyone.
Gathering donations for our local food pantry and getting involved with volunteer work as a family this summer has helped us open our eyes to the needs in our own community, and just how blessed we are to be eating our slices of watermelon at the farmer's market.

This has been such a good experience for my girls and me, which is why I am so excited to encourage everyone else to get involved too! Considering how much we've learned and how much our hearts have been filled by reaching out, both my kids and I understand so much better what Anne Frank meant when she said,
"No one has ever become poor by giving."

Finding ways to help can be really simple too! Hosting a simple Taco Fiesta with a few family and friends is a great way to gather non-perishable food items to donate locally. You can also check out the Feeding America Pinterest Page here for more ideas on how to have a Childlike Summer and end child hunger.
Check out our short Instagram video of our food donation drop off at our local food pantry, St. Felix Pantry. We had a lot of fun working together as a family to help kids in our own community have food to eat this summer.
And last, but not least, you can help feed a child this summer by simply watching, liking, and/or sharing this video by Kid President. It's so easy - please do it!
All kids deserve to have a Childlike Summer! If we all do our part, we really can make a difference.
I partnered with The Motherhood and ConAgra Foods to help spread the word about a Hunger Free Summer, but all opinions are my own.
