These reads are hot off the presses (or will be soon). If you're looking for something brand new, this is the book list for you! I haven't read very many of these yet . . . but then, that's the point isn't it.
Disclaimer by Renee Knight
I've heard rumor that this is perhaps the new Gone Girl. A psychological thriller with revenge and secrets, it sounds like the perfect Summer Page Turner.
Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee
This isn't out until July, but it's sure to be the hottest new literary read this summer. I am of course joining all the hype and have pre-ordered my copy!
Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
This is the best new YA read, just out this month. I haven't read it, but Janssen said it's the best Dessen she's read in years. I'm reading it this summer, how about you?
The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan
This is the brand new light and fun read, chick lit if you will. Given my obsession with all things British, you'd think a fictionalized account of Prince William and Kate Middleton's love story would be right up my alley. For some odd reason, however, I don't really pay much attention to Will and Kate. Still, this book sounds fun and light and it just might get packed in my beach bag before the summer is over.
Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin
I'm a huge Gretchen Rubin fan and I think this is her best book yet. It's my pick for the latest book to make you smarter. It's about habits, how to make them and break them, but it doesn't read like a self help book. Gretchen uses her own personal experiences to weave a story around the science of habits and helpful tips to make your life better than before. This is my favorite book I've read this year!
The Ingenious Mr. Pyke: Inventor, Fugitive, Spy by Henry Hemming
As if this guy, Mr. Pyke, didn't already sound completely fascinating, the book dangles this tantalizing bit for readers: "Only now, following the release of previously classified documents by MI5, can this man’s extraordinary story be told in full.” That has my attention! This quirky nonfiction read is on my summer list - I love a good biography!
The Wright Brothers by David McCullough
What can I say, the historian in me can't let a summer reading list go without a good historical tome. Don't worry, it's only 336 pages and with McCullough at the helm, it's bound to be a really fun read.
